We are in the mobile age. Fact. Kids today can’t seem to
lift their faces away from the screens of their phones. You see funny videos
online of them walking into water, walls, and every other obvious thing in
front of them. Adults are right behind them, usually the next victims.
The spread of information is what will bring the light to
the world. This we already know. Handing out flyers, brochures, bibles, and
street evangelism are all great ways to spread the word, but what if it was easier
than that? Easier doesn't have to mean less involved, just more efficient. In
the same time it takes someone to walk around and pass out flyers, you can have
your church members all share with just one of their friends. A download is
free and asks for no commitment. Through Facebook and through their contacts,
your members can all share on a moment’s notice and however many times they
want to!
Mobile means on the go. Your members, leaders, and target
audience is all on the move. It’s a miracle all in itself just to have everyone
know about a single event, let alone this summer’s entire schedule. Their phone
is always on them, no matter where they are. Have a question? The answer is
most likely in the app. Mass messaging (Push Notifications), sermon series,
podcast, blogs, GPS directions, and even a bible, it’s all in there.
A church mobile app is everything you want your website to or
bulletin board to do, actually doing it. The easier something is to use the
more likely it will be used. What easier than having an app on a phone? Chances
are they already have a few, so put one there that speaks for you and enriches
their lives.
